Skip the small talk

I Don't Do Small Talk (And Why That Matters)

Growing up, I always felt a little out of place in conversations that danced around the surface. You know the ones - the same recycled small talk, the predictable exchanges that lead nowhere. Even now, I don't enjoy talking about simple things. Not because I think I'm above it, but because my mind craves depth, curiosity, and growth.

I’ve had the same conversation 20 times in one day before. And every time, a little part of me asked, What could we be learning instead? What new idea could we explore?

Learning doesn’t always come from repetition - it comes from variation. It comes from stepping outside the familiar and immersing yourself in something new. Different people. Different environments. Different thoughts. Different risks.

I’ve never been one to do what the norm does. That’s not where greatness lives. You want to be prolific? Do what someone prolific does. Be different. Think different. Live different.

That means questioning routine. Saying no to comfort when it becomes a cage. Refusing to let autopilot dictate your day.

The world doesn’t need more people saying the same things. It needs more people willing to listen differently, speak differently, and most importantly - live differently.
